Gastro Outbreak Declared OVER

GASTROINTESTINAL ILLNESS OUTBREAK AT WILKES TERRACE LONG TERM CARE EFFECTIVE JULY 8, 2021

The North of Superior Healthcare Group (NOSH) is reporting a gastrointestinal outbreak has been declared at Wilkes Terrace Long Term Care home.

The Health Unit is urging people to stay at home and refrain from visiting the hospital and Wilkes Terrace when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to those most vulnerable.

The Health Unit reminds the public to prevent spreading infections by washing hands often, for at least 15 seconds with soap and warm water, or use an alcohol-based sanitizer and to stay home if sick to avoid spreading infections to others.

The gastrointestinal outbreak at Wilkes Terrace has been declared OVER at 9:00 am this morning, July 13th.
