Activity Facilitator

The North of Superior Health Care Group – Wilson Memorial General Hospital Site, Marathon, has an immediate opening for a part time (0.6FTE) Activity Facilitator.

 

WAGE: $25.95/hr

JOB SUMMARY:         

Under the direction of the Community and Long-Term Care Programs Manager, The Activities Facilitator is responsible for the implementation and the delivery of approved recreational and activity programs for hospital residents and community members. With the goal of improving the quality of life for all seniors.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as working in a Long Term Care Home, community center, or other setting where recreational activities are organized.
  • Will have experience working with seniors;
  • Knowledge of Dementia and other age-related conditions.
  • Good physical and mental health. 
  • Evidence of a current criminal reference check and vulnerable sector screen;
  • Excellent communication skills, including written documentation;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs with strong computer skills;
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification;

JOB ENVIRONMENT

  • Prolonged standing and walking.  Some lifting and moving of equipment, and supplies.  Repeated bending and stooping.  Some repetitive motion through the use of a computer. Assisting in “stand – sits”. Pushing Wheelchairs.

 

LANGUAGE                             English (bilingual an asset)
