Barminco Donates $50,000 to North of Superior Healthcare Group's Families Closer to Home Campaign
Marathon, May 15, 2025 — The North of Superior Healthcare Group (NOSH) is proud to announce a generous $50,000 donation from Barminco in support of the Families Closer to Home campaign. This significant contribution will help bring enhanced healthcare services to the region through the development of a new 14-bed Barrick Care Long-Term Care unit, the renovation of four Continuing Complex Care (CCC) beds, and the construction of a new CCC nursing station.
Barminco's donation reflects their deep commitment to improving healthcare in the communities where their employees live and work. Their support ensures that local residents and their families can access high-quality care close to home—an impact that will be felt for generations to come.
“We are incredibly grateful to Barminco for this outstanding show of support,” said Adam Brown, Chief Executive Officer of NOSH. “This donation not only helps us reach our campaign goal but also demonstrates the power of community and corporate partnership in advancing rural healthcare.”
“We're thrilled to be moving ahead with our support for the Families Closer to Home campaign through our donation for the facility expansion. This is an incredibly meaningful initiative for us, and we're proud to contribute to something with such lasting community impact,” said Tom Loneragan, Barrick Hemlo Alternate Projects Manager of Barminco. “The investment in new infrastructure will offer direct and tangible benefits to the Marathon community. We're grateful for the partnership and the opportunity to support NOSH in delivering these important outcomes.”
NOSH also extends sincere thanks to Tom Loneragan, Tim Gough, and Breanne Perkins from Barminco for attending the inaugural Rock for Health Care event in Marathon on May 3, where the cheque presentation and donation announcement were shared with the community. Their presence helped mark a memorable and meaningful moment for all in attendance.
