Gastrointestinal Outbreak Update
May 8, 2026 – The North Shore Family Health Team (NSFHT) and the North of Superior Healthcare Group (NOSH) is pleased to announce that the Gastrointestinal outbreak at the McCausland Hospital has been officially declared over by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) as of May 7, 2026.
We would like to thank the patients of the McCausland Hospital for their support, trust, and patience as we navigated through this outbreak. We would also like to thank the NOSH team members who worked tirelessly to manage the outbreak and keep spirits up for those in isolation.
To everyone in the community who has sent us well wishes and messages of support over the past week, thank you! Your support helped the McCausland Hospital team members and patients/residents stay positive throughout these challenging times.
All visitation, programming and services have now resumed. We would like to remind you to please refrain from visiting patients in the hospital if you are feeling unwell.
