Medical Laboratory Assistant

Wage: $29.79 - $31.90
The North of Superior Healthcare Group, The McCausland Hospital (Terrace Bay site) has an immediate opening for a Part – Time Medical Laboratory Assistant.
Under the general supervision of the Senior Lab Technologist, the Laboratory Assistant procures biological samples from inpatients, outpatients and emergency patients. Initiates and completes documentation, distribution and result entry for internal and referral samples. Performs general clerical functions (filing, faxing, answering telephone) to assist with general daily operations of the laboratory department.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION Graduate from an approved Medical Laboratory Assistant course, required, or clinical background may be considered.
ABILITIES Good organizational skills, ability to appropriately prioritize work
Strong communication skills
Ability to work in a confidential environment
LANGUAGE English (bilingual an asset)
