MARATHON, ON, SEPTEMBER 26, 2025 – The North of Superior Healthcare Group (NOSH) is very pleased to announce that we have officially received our Long-Term Care Home 30-year operating Licence. This Licence is the last regulatory requirement to allow us to open Barrick Care in Marathon.
With this licence, we will be accepting first residents into Barrick Care on Monday, September 29, 2025 and anticipate to be fully occupied within seven days.
NOSH Chair Stephen Wilson commented: “This incredible achievement is the culmination of almost four years of dedicated effort, creativity and collaboration among our NOSH Teams, Town of Marathon, Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg, the Ministry of Long-Term Care, Ministry of Health, our generous donors and our contracted engineers, architects and construction crews. Barrick Care is bringing care closer to home for all of our residents and their families.”
NOSH CEO Adam Brown added: “We are so grateful to everyone involved with this project, especially acknowledging our new residents and their families, who have patiently waited for Barrick Care to become a reality. We are very proud to add this new service offering to Marathon, Biigtigong Nishnaabeg and Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg.
